Three local families - Visconti, Cassinis and Ravizza - have farmed this land for decades and more recently joined together to form Vicara Winery, a combination of their lands and the three family names. The vineyards are located in Piedmont on the hills rising between the River Po and the plain of Alessandria and lie within the boundaries of five villages.
Lowest elevation of the vineyards for both the Grignolino and the Barbera: 330 meters.

Fermentation and Vinification: The juice is fermented using only wild yeasts. After maceration lasting about a week the must matures in stainless steel tanks and is bottled in the Spring after the harvest.
