Located in Montenero d’Orcia, about 10 miles south of Montalcino in the volcanic foothills of Monte Amiata in Tuscany, several generations of the Pieri family planted vineyards, olive groves and vegetables, slowly increasing their production over time.  The family also raises animals for its renowned butcher shop offering fresh and cured organic meats.  The farm production is certified organic and both the vineyards and the vinification are now managed by Eleonora Pieri, the granddaughter of the patriarch.

Harvest: By hand

Total area under vine: 3.5 hectares

Total production of the farm: 15,000 bottles

Farming method: Organic

Fermentation and Vinification: Both the Rosé and Bianco are fermented using only natural yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.  The Rosé spends a few hours on the skins.  Both wines spend a further 6 months in stainless steel prior to bottling in the spring following the harvest.
