Luigi Fanti is the 5th generation owner of the farm located on a windswept hill overlooking the Sant' Antimo Abbey, a couple of kilometers southeast of the town of Montalcino. Luigi, his wife and two sons are completely hands-on, managing every aspect of the growing cycle and vinification process to produce the highest quality wine using natural and organic methods. The wines are made in a very traditional and elegant style, using only large oak for aging.
Harvest: By hand
Total area under vine: 14 hectares
Total production of the farm: 67,000 bottles
Farming method: Sustainable and in conversion to organic from 2016.
Fermentation and Vinification: The juice is fermented using only wild yeasts and macerates on the skins in stainless steel for 20-30 days. The wine is then aged in 3000-liter Slavonian oak barrels, 12 months for the Rosso, 48 months for the Brunello and 72 months for the Riserva.
